A Community Planting Day
On 21 November 2022, we organised a Community Planting Day in Esher High St. to restore the various planters located on the footpaths, which had been neglected for some time, with lots of beautiful autumn and winter plants. We’re most grateful for financial and technical support from Healix and Garsons with this project and to the many Esher folk (and two groups of schoolchildren with their teachers) who turned out on the day to help with the weeding and planting. Volunteers from numerous local businesses rolled their sleeves up, including enthusiastic part-time gardeners from Killik, Savills, Sandown Park, Giro, Healix and Audley Chaucer. Our local MP at the time, Dominic Raab, also put in a shift. It was a great local occasion with an inspirational community spirit very much in evidence. We intend to do something similar again because this planting project is just the start!
